Who we are
barcodegenerator.co.nz is a free barcode and QR code generator for New Zealand. It is an independent New Zealand website. You do not need an account to use it.
The barcodes and QR codes you create
The generator runs entirely inside your web browser.
- The text and numbers you type are not sent to us.
- We do not store what you generate.
- We cannot see what you generate.
Information we collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details in order to use the tool.
Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard server logs. These can include your IP address, your browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. They are used to keep the site running, to fix faults and to protect the site from abuse.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are needed to run and speed up the site, including page caching. If you leave a comment or log in as an administrator, WordPress may set additional cookies for that purpose.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The barcode and QR code generator will still work.
Analytics and advertising
We do not currently run analytics or advertising on this site.
We are adding Google Analytics 4 so we can understand how the site is used, and we intend to display advertising in future. This page will be updated with the details, including the cookies involved and how to opt out, before either goes live.
Third party services
The barcode and QR code libraries used by the generator are loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network. Your browser connects directly to jsDelivr, which will receive your IP address as part of that request. We do not send jsDelivr any information about what you generate.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, including GS1 New Zealand. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any website we link to. Please read their own privacy policies.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept only for as long as our web host needs them for security and maintenance. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not sell or trade any information.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it. Please use the contact page and we will respond as quickly as we can.
